About H.O.Z
Pastor Polo and Marta Garcia began
the ministry, of House of Zion, in 1981 as an outreach to the migrant farm
workers in Woodburn,
Oregon. Having attended
Portland Bible
College and living in the greater
Portland Metropolitan area, the Garcias saw a major need in the Northern
Marion County
region. Many families were living without shelter, adequate food, clothing
and medical attention, even during adverse winter weather conditions.
The Garcias began House of Zion as
an extension of their lives, opening their own home to begin providing
shelter and food for those without.
This ministry has grown, since
those days, in providing shelter, food, clothing, counseling, ministerial
ministries, agency referral , migrant farm distribution to labor camps, a
church, educational center for youth, and a mediation for farm workers
program.
